WELCOME PARENTS!
Congratulations on having a new Scarlet Knight in your family! We are excited to welcome your student to campus and support his or her needs and interests in any way that we can. Your student is now part of one of the most vibrant, diverse and caring Jewish communities on a college campus today. Rutgers Hillel is constantly expanding – supporting over 6,400 Jewish students through hundreds of student-led groups. The staff is always meeting with students to engage them in the community, empower them as leaders and talk about what they want to experience on campus. We do our best to help fulfill their wishes through dozens of diverse Hillel programs and groups. We are also prepared to assist students with just about any problem he or she may have at the University. Should you ever any have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at (732) 545-2407 ext. 23 or Rabbi Esther Reed at rabbireed@rutgershillel.org.
Just as we welcome feedback from students, we love to hear from our parent community too. Our Parent Ambassador Council (PAC) offers parents their own unique Rutgers Hillel experience – advising the staff and the Board of Trustees on new and current initiatives, as well as serving as ambassadors of our mission throughout local communities. To learn more about PAC, visit our Parents Network page.
We hope you will take a moment to also join our closed Facebook group, Rutgers Hillel Parents, which will help you connect with other Rutgers Hillel families interested in enriching the lives of their Jewish students while at RH.
To join, simply log in to your account and type ‘Rutgers Hillel Parents’ in the search box or click here. After selecting the group, click ‘Join Group’ in the upper right-hand corner.
The bottom line for us is the same as for you: there isn’t anyone in the world more important to us than your student. That, more than anything else, is why we are here.
Rutgers Hillel offers your child opportunities to explore and celebrate their Jewish identity; continuing their Jewish journey into adulthood.
The passionate Rutgers staff place value in connections with each student and strives to offer a host of meaningful entry points into Jewish campus life. We are here to provide your student with a strong Jewish community away from home. We look to inspire and excite students and make life a little smoother while your student is at college.
We encourage families to join us for meals and events, especially during move-in, Parent and Family Weekend, Reunions and Commencement.
Thank you for trusting us with your child.
– Staff of Rutgers Hillel
