Welcome to the Rutgers Hillel Family!

Supporting Your Student’s College Journey and Jewish Growth

Helping Your
Student Feel at Home

At Rutgers Hillel, we’re excited to welcome your student to campus and make sure they’ve got what they need to thrive — on their Jewish journey and otherwise. College can be a big transition, and we’re here to help it feel like home.
From free Shabbat dinners and late-night hangs, to leadership and learning opportunities, we offer an experience where students can show up as their full selves — Jewish, proud, and empowered. Our staff deeply cares about helping students navigate the highs, lows, and everything in between of college life.

Want to stay connected? Join our private Rutgers Hillel Parents Facebook Group — it’s a great way to get updates, ask questions, and connect with other families who get it.

Empowering Students to Thrive

A vibrant, supportive community that elevates Jewish life and leadership at Rutgers.

  • A Strong, Supportive Community

Rutgers Hillel offers your student a welcoming and dynamic community where they can make lifelong friends, explore their Jewish identity, and build connections that will last well beyond their college years.

  • Leadership and Personal Growth

With hundreds of student-led groups, our campus offers many leadership opportunities. Your student will gain valuable skills in organizing, advocacy, and building relationships that will enhance their college experience and beyond.

  • Guidance and Personal Support

Rutgers Hillel is here for students, offering personalized support in navigating college life. Whether they need academic guidance, personal advice, or help with campus resources, Hillel is committed to ensuring your student has the tools needed to succeed. From mentorship opportunities to one-on-one consultations with our staff, we provide the support and encouragement students need to thrive in both their academic and personal journeys.

We're here to help your student have a positive, meaningful experience, and we truly believe that Rutgers is a great place to be Jewish. If your student ever needs support navigating campus climate, bias, or just talking through anything that feels "off", they won't have to figure it out alone. Please guide them to schedule an appointment with our Director of Community Relations as soon as possible. We're here to help!

"Hillel is a great and comfortable place for my daughters to be, whether they were there to enjoy a meal, study, socialize, sing with the a cappella group, be part of the theater group, or just hang out! "

"My son came to Rutgers with a strong Jewish identity, but Hillel gave him something more — a community, a purpose, and a chance to lead. Watching him grow into a student leader who now feels empowered to pave the way for others has been incredible. I was always proud of the young man he is, but Rutgers Hillel has made me even prouder of the Jewish man he’s becoming."
