Community Service & Immersive Breaks at Rutgers Hillel
Community Service
Service Engagement Internship (SEI) Program
Are you interested in working to make the world a better place? If so, this internship is for you! Every year, Rutgers Hillel hires Service Engagement Interns whose primary role is engaging their peers in acts of tikkun olam, repairing the world. SEIs facilitate a variety of social action programs, including involvement in civic engagement and social change work. You will create fun and engaging programming that helps communities locally, nationally, and abroad in Israel. You'll also work closely with Hillel staff and make a huge impact as you develop social action initiatives for all our students. If you are interested in becoming an SEI, please contact our VP of Education, Asher Selberg, or Rabbi Josh Lobel, who will get back to you with potential next steps. Check out the application here! For more information, email Asher Selsberg and Rabbi Josh Lobel.
Good Deeds Day
Good Deeds Day is a global movement of people who are dedicated to doing good. Since 2007, millions of people and thousands of organizations from 115 countries unite annually to volunteer and #DoGood. At Rutgers Hillel, we observe Good Deeds Day in partnership with the Catholic Center, along with anyone who wishes to join us in a day of community service. We engage in activities like beautifying our campus, making soup for people who are ill, and putting together flatware bundles for the needy. For more information, please contact our VP of Education, Asher Selsberg, and Rabbi Josh Lobel.
