Shabbat
Shabbat at Rutgers Hillel is an incredible, lively, and joyous experience. Offering Conservative, Orthodox and Reform services, students can find a place to pray that feels right for them; or they can just show up for dinner. It is all good with us. Hundreds of students come together every Friday evening for a delicious kosher Shabbat meal, free for all students, in our beautiful Tanzman Dining Room. (Or you may find students playing a raucous game of ping pong!)
Why Students Love Shabbat at Rutgers Hillel
"I love Shabbat at Hillel because it is a great opportunity to express myself and connect with my community. Every week I look forward to getting a little dressed up, chatting with friends, and singing during services. As Shabbat Chair, I had so much fun coming up with themes and decorating the dining room, enhancing the Shabbat experience for me and my peers."

"I love Shabbat at Hillel because it gives me a space to celebrate the Sabbath with fellow Jews on campus. There’s always great food and great vibes."

“I love Shabbos at Hillel because I get to bring in Shabbos surrounded by my friends! Every week there are new people to welcome, and the mix of familiar and new faces always makes Shabbos feel meaningful and full of joy.”
