Security

Rutgers Hillel was established at Rutgers University in 1943 and is an independently operated subsidiary of Hillel International, the largest Jewish campus organization in the world.

The Eva and Aie Halpern Hilll House on the Wilf Family Campus opened in April 2017, and is now the largest Hillel in North America, serving one of the largest Jewish campus populations in the country.

In an ever changing world with, sadly, rising anti-semitism everywhere, we recognize the necessity of professional security.  Therefore, it’s not a choice, it’s an obligation to ensure that Rutgers Hillel is a safe and secure place for our students, staff, and everyone who visits our facility.

Therefore, professional, trained security personnel are present in our building during all hours of public operation. We have partnered with Homeland Security and local law enforcement agencies. Our new facility is equipped with a variety of protective measures, including a state of the art surveillance system which allows us to monitor and protect our building at all times.

Security of this kind is not inexpensive. We thank everyone who contributes to make sure that our students’ Home Away From Home is truly a safe one.
